A hernia is a hole or a weakness in a place where one should not have one. Typical locations include the umbilicus (belly button), inguinal area (groin) and along prior incisions (incisional). While usually repaired electively, they can sometimes require emergent surgery depending on your symptoms. We repair hernias in both adults and children.
